There are probably hundreds of different recipes for German Potato Salad. This is my mother's version which does not use celery, but it uses a fair amount of mustard to substitute for the heavy and calorie ritch mayonnaise.


5 lp Potatoes
40 oz Water
3 teaspoon Bouillon
Black Pepper
1 - 2 Onions


  1. Peel potatoes and steam them until they are done (roughly 25 minutes)
  2. Boil water (parts of it can be substituted with pickel water)
  3. Add bouillon, sugar, black pepper, onions (cut into pieces) and boil for 3 - 5 minutes

Can be stored in refrigerator for up to 5 days
